SHop foreman

Heavy Equipment mechanic

We are seeking a diligent Shop Foreman/Heavy Equipment Mechanic to oversee the day-to-day operations of our mechanics shop. In this role, you will supervise all shop personnel, oversee the management and maintenance of equipment, and ensure the efficiency of operations. You will also be required to manage inventory and enforce safety regulations.

To ensure success as a shop foreman, you should be highly organized and have excellent communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch shop foreman should be able to anticipate and address hindrances to operational efficiency.  Successful applicants must be self-motivated, possess a strong safety minded attitude and be a good team player.  

Regular job duties include the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of heavy equipment. You will be responsible for service documentation, ordering parts as necessary, maintaining assigned shop equipment, and assisting field technicians with equipment maintenance.

​Shop Foreman/Heavy Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and training staff.

  • Creating and managing the staff, maintenance, and work schedules.

  • Overseeing work to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations.

  • Enforcing safety regulations and protocols.

  • Conducting performance reviews with staff.

  • Meeting with management to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.

  • Implementing strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.

  • Ensuring that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained.

  • Monitoring inventory levels and replenishing supplies as needed.

  • Performing administrative tasks such as updating and filing equipment orders, approving payables for shop purchases, stock receipts, and staff schedules.

  • Daily maintenance of heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, front end loaders, articulated haul trucks, and water trucks. 

  • Assist in the daily operations and maintenance of the plant, quarry and various aggregate sources, and associated equipment as directed

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

 

  

Preferred Candidates will possess the following attributes:

 

  • Previous experience in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment

  • Experience as a Shop Foreman or similar position

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude

  • Knowledge of surface mining and sand production, practices and applications

  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices

  • Strong leadership abilities

  • Good time management and problem-solving skills.

  • A great understanding of work optimization techniques.

  • Good knowledge of the applicable safety regulations and procedures.

  • Valid driver’s license is required

  • Ability to pass pre-employment process, including drug screen.

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, early mornings, overtime, and some travel

  • Work outdoors with exposure to heat and cold and other outdoor environmental conditions

  • Operate equipment, tools, and controls, performing repetitive movements with hands, wrists and feet

CDL TRUCK DRIVERS

We are currently accepting applications for Class A and

Class B CDL truck drivers.

 

Successful applicants must be self-motivated, possess a strong safety minded attitude and be a good team player.  

 

Regular job duties include

  • Class B drivers will learn to drive front discharge concrete mixer and tandem axle dump truck.   

  • Driving lead tractor trailers, gravel trains and lowboy.

  • On the job training will be considered for the right person for lowboy and gravel train position.

Preferred Candidates will possess the following attributes

 

  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Drivers License is required

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude

  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices
